Happy Monday Fashion Femme Fatales! After a whirlwind weekend, I’m finally catching my breath. Mom came up late Friday night and we were rolling Saturday at the crack of dawn. Our various destinations were at least an hour apart. First stop? Fab Freddie rocked out our hair in Virgina, then we drove to Maryland for DymonJane’s makeup magic and later we returned to DC. It had been GO GO GO all morning and finally it was time to step into outfits. I felt very blessed to be dressed by forHerandforHim.com, which sells the most beautiful wedding and special occasion garments. I wore the “3D white” LWD (that’s little WHITE dress – ha). For my accessories, April M Jewelry shipped me an extraordinary gold plate cuff bracelet and square crystal gold earrings! CopperThimble (on Etsy) provided a dainty vintage-inspired headpiece that I was excitedly paired with cream flowered heels. Mom found a beautiful royal blue lace number for the event. I was in love with the side panels and special detailing. At the awards ceremony, I happily sat near my colleagues -who were all awarded Emmys! My category was one of the last. It had been a long night with the affair starting at 6pm (cocktail mixer) and still going at 10:30pm without yet at my category. When the host shouted out my spot, “Recon…The Long Road Home,” for best show promotion I could hardly believe it! Beyond shocked, I grabbed the hand of the lovely Jinne (super-talented graphic artist) and Caroline (kick butt editor). We ran to the stage like “The Price is Right!” and before I knew it I was thanking all of the women troops that sacrifice for our freedoms, Alissa who produced the show and my boss Charlie Towne. We all hugged and kissed and jumped up and down before taking our professional pics on the red carpet (which I will sure to post in the coming days along with the winning spot). There’s nothing more gratifying than being rewarded for hard work. I’m humbled by this recognition, but simultaneously inspired. It makes me want to do the best I can in everything I do! I’m looking forward to what else 2013 has in store! Thanks for following my blog. That is an honor that means everything to me.
Glam Squad Thanks:
