Happy Hump Day Fashion Femme Fatales and Gents! In my continuing coverage of New York Fashion Week, I take you to the world of Vivienne Tam! It all went down Sunday, 6pm at the Lincoln Center. Backstage pre-show we asked Vivienne what was her inspiration for this collection. She said the style of old China and Japan adding that young people would not want to wear that today, so she modernized the garments (but still paying homage to the culture). When questioned about the future of fashion she simply answered, “Individuality.”
For spring she showed a very girly collection of separates including patterned dresses, short suits, skater and flared skirts in colors such as blue, orange, green and tan. I love the mix and match option as well as the styling of the models! Oh and there was plenty of black and white, a trend I’ve noticed at many of the shows showing for spring/summer 2014. Shout out to my a-mazingly talented photographer Tracey Goldberry!
Be sure to check out the full Vivienne Tam collection here on video and watch out for upcoming posts!
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
