Happy Wednesday Fashion Femme Fatales! I’ve returned to the U.S. from my birthday week in Venezuela and I’m filled with many stories to share starting with my family’s visit to the Santa Teresa Hacienda Rum Factory. It’s Venezuela’s oldest producer of award-winning aged rums Since 1796. Speaking of which, we felt like we had stepped back in time once arriving on the grounds. The land is absolutely gorge! Equally wonderful was my lunch – it was shredded chicken (called “stew”) inside of an homemade pie of sorts. My cousin Tajji cracked us up with his Don Equis The Most Interesting Man In the World impersonations, “Stay thirsty, my friends.” My family’s rum choice for the meal was Araku, which was as sweet as our desserts (rum mixed with coffee). Araku is named after the original inhabitants of Aragua, Venezuela – that’s where the rum factory is. Aragua is located in the country’s north-central region where there are jungles, plains and Caribbean beaches. One of the most popular is Choroni. That’s the next adventure I’ll write about. After leaving Santa Teresa we headed to a posada. Think of a bed and breakfast…villa style..inside a jungle. I can’t wait to tell you about it. Big hugs!
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
