Happy Friday Fashion Femme Fatales and Gents! Tomorrow it’s going down at the Belmont Stakes, nicknamed “the test of the champions,” with this year’s race marking the 146th running. California Chrome is going for the Triple Crown, which consists of winning The Kentucky Derby, The Preakness Stakes and yes – The Belmont Stakes. Several horses have come close, but only 11 have swept. Will California Chrome be the 12th? You can just imagine the fashionable crowds all of this excitement is bringing! It’s an opportunity to watch history looking fab all the while. What’s the main dresscode? An amazing hat, of course! Oh – and the bigger the better. When I think of outstanding hats, New York designer Anya Caliendo comes immediately to mind!
Anya Caliendo Couture Millinery sells absolutely breathtaking hats for women! Anya’s love for hats began at age three in Russia when she discovered an old book in her grandfather’s library with photos of Russian royalty donning amazing hats! She would later attend Parsons School of Design in NY and study in Great Britain under the renown millinery designer, Mrs. Rose Cory (who designed hats for Queen Elizabeth). What’s cool is now Anya has developed a millinery course, which can be taken at her spot in Babylon, NY. My mere words cannot due her creations justice! Her hats are fantastic, wonder and chic all rolled into one! Check out the full collection from her spring/summer “Confessions” collection below. Any of these would be the perfect accessory for the Belmont Stakes! If you can’t make it to the races, have a themed party where everyone dresses the part! Ladies wear bright floral midi dresses and Gents rock pastel pants and print bow ties. Home can be the best seat in the house! Good luck to California Chrome and jockey Victor Espinoza!

Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
