Thanks to the movie “Black Swan” the ballerina trend is still in full-effect…in charge and large! However, fashion has always been inspired by the ballet. One of the more breathtaking homages was Christian Dior’s F/W2012 show- everything from the barely there makeup to the tutu dresses (gotta have it!). The Dior closed with Karlie Kloss (model & ballet dancer)…but, of course!:)
When I think of “ballerina,” my bestie Yvie immediately comes to mind. She’s a super accountant by day, but by night she trains the smallest of ballerinas. I love her life!
Check out ballet flats now available on http://www.toms.com/womens/ballet-flats-1 with 13 colors and comfy styles backed with the do-good promise of giving a pair to a person in need with every purchase!
Oh and Doo.Ri’s fall 2012 line was inspired by Butoh Ballerinas. Butoh is a form of Japanese contemporary dance. Take a peek!
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
