Happy Monday Fashion Femme Fatales! Greetings from Los Angeles, California! I’m getting ready to go for a walk with my LA bestie before today’s Style LA Fashion Week events begin. I can’t wait to write about the west coast fashionistas. However, I’d like to start this week of with Russsian-inspired fashion. Designer Tadashi Shoji showed a collection during last month’s NYFW that he created after a visit to St. Petersburg (which he called, “cold!” ha). His line is full of beautiful dresses with a variety of looks from peasant frocks to what royalty to would’ve worn (with a modern, ready-to-wear twist – of course). Pay attention to the washed-velvet gowns, the Edwardian high-neck, czarina sleeves and oh yes, the pockets! How I love pockets on dresses! It’s a trend I’ve seen pop up at many a show. Shout out to my awesome photographer Tajji Sharp for getting awesome pics!
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
