I’ve had the beautiful pleasure of watching Tamara Wellons grow from singing as a child in our beloved family church to blowing away audiences in big city venues. Tamara effortlessly combines soul, jazz and house and can be seen many nights performing at Eatonville restaurant in Washington, DC. Eatonville has a special magic of its own serving the most delicious classic southern food. But I digress- a soul princess, Tamara’s fashion style mirrors her music. She rocks a vintage look mixed with an afrocentric vibe like nobody’s business:) Don’t you just love her in the red banded sheath dress in the pic below? Check out Tamara’s contemporary jazz cover of one of my favorite 90’s grunge rock songs – Nirvana’s hit “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Kurt would be proud.
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
