Shifting From Summer: The Shift Dress

By KristySamone — August 23, 2012

A really neat story: The shift dress became really popular because of Lily Pulitzer  – a socialite during the 50’s. After eloping with her hubby, they moved to Palm Beach where she opened a fruit stand. To disguise to juice stains on her clothes she had a sleeveless dress made from a colorful print and the rest is history. Lily’s old schoolmate Jackie Kennedy wore one of her dresses while being photographed as the First Lady and a craze was born!

Tolumide models for us two different shift dresses (this one her hubby purchased for her from NEXT in London with shoes from ZARA in Madrid). Notice the burgundy tights! Burgundy-hued hair! Burgundy lips! Winter wine:)
