While I attended runway shows for Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week, there was fashion week running alongside of it – Nolcha. It took a bit of scheduling mastering, but there was no way I was missing Nolcha. Over the past five years it has established itself as a platform for promoting innovative fashion designers. It’s like an indie film festival…for designers. Nolcha’s big sponsor was RUSK, a professional haircare brand internationally renowned for it’s advanced approach to cut, color, style and products. On the very last day, Nolcha sponsored a blogger’s brunch at the super cool Yotel on Tenth Avenue where RUSK hairstylists were essentially “fixing people’s heads.” Ha! Over the seven days of NYFW humidity and rain, my cool asymmetrical bob (thanks Fab Freddie!) had transformed into Puff the Not So Magic Dragon. Thank goodness for Marcus Caillet of Bren-dia’s Salon and Day Spa of Maryland! Marcus was one of the many RUSK stylists who’d travelled to work the shows for Nolcha. His salon carries and highly advocates RUSK products with the qualified support from Dr. Yates. My friends and I were really impressed with what he used on me – especially the tools for heat straightening. I will write detail reviews on those products in the coming weeks! http://rusk1.com/.
After the show, I decided to try hair extension and I should say I was impressed. If you also dream of fuller and longer hair, check out The Lauren Ashtyn Collection.
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
