Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2016 – Says Fashion Week Is Broken
Happy Monday Fashion Femme Fatales and Gents!
So you wanna start a revolution? Well, that’s what Rebecca Minkoff and her brother Uri are doing in the fashion world. The collection she showed on Saturday at New York Fashion Week had a bit of a twist.
Normally, designers show lines that aren’t available until the following season. Rebecca Minkoff said, “Fashion Week is broken.”
I feel her. Since collections have a strong presence on social media (like Instagram) by the time fashionistas actually see the clothing in the store – they’re SO over them.
Minkoff’s “Disruption” collection, as the spring line has been named, can be purchased now. She called it #SeeBuyWear.
Take notice of the draping, fringe, suede and easy breezy tops matched with those cross-body bags she’s known for. I’m in love with the white on white and lavender shades. Just imagine wearing these adorable frocks to brunch, shopping with your friends or a summer date night.
I applaud Minkoff. Never afraid of “what’s next,” she was one of the first to embrace “the blog” and we see how well that concept turned out. Ha! Tom Ford and Burberry are following Minkoff’s path with their collections this season.
What do you think about this change? In this age of immediate satisfaction and vast online coverage is this the reboot that fashion needs? I know exactly what I need – one of Rebecca’s white dresses! Ha! Have a fabulous start to your week.

Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!
