Happy Friday Fashion Femme Fatales and Gents! Oh, how I’ve missed you guys (I’m slowly getting used to my “Friday” only format -ha)! I’ve just returned from working on a shoot (this time on a different side of production – in charge of makeup and styling – so fun)! What I’m really looking forward to is this weekend which will be a mix of rest and mingling. Speaking of good things to come, I received such favorable response on my post covering the “Pitchouguina spring/summer collection” that I feel compelled to give you a sneak peek of the autumn 2014 line. Designed by Anna Pitchouguina, the London-based line with Russian and Polish roots is equal parts whimsical and beautiful. I asked what was the inspiration for the fall collection, “We get inspired by similar things each season maybe here we concentrated and thought about naked trees, foot steps on the snow, cold chilly weather and massive bridges late in the evening with our girl walking on it listening to Willy Mason. This kind of mood. There are a lot of details like heavy thread roses, tiny beads, embroideries and all mixed with heavy wools and thin organza.” Additionally, Pitchouguina worked with USA based illustrator Yelena Bryksenkova on the beautiful prints. Russian-born Yelena attended the esteemed Maryland Institute College of Art, which isn’t too far from where I work. But I digress check out some images from the lovely fall collection.
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
