Happy Monday Fashion Femme Fatales and Gents!! It was an icy, rainy, super drab sort of day on Saturday, but I felt blessed that loved ones braved the wicked weather for the wedding video screening! My good friend Karl, a “preditor” (producer-editor) at ESPN used a NFL pregame show as his inspiration -ha! Thus, the video was simultaneously touching and hilarious complete with a “postgame” interview of Ralph and I! I will post a cut down version of our “mini-movie” in the coming weeks. In the meanwhile, if ya missed our “wedding trailer” posted in October, please check out some of Karl’s wonderful work here: http://kristysamone.com/the-wedding-trailer/
Now, on to the sweet treats! Baker’s Kitchen from Richmond, Virginia made a wonderfully delicious buttercream tiered dessert with fresh strawberry for the bottom cake and almond for the top. I fell in love with the pastel sugar flowers! Almost too pretty to eat…almost -ha! Since the cake was the true star of the table, we paired it with Italian star biscottis and heart shaped cooca cookies. Ralph made hot cocoa “from scratch” with Ghirardelli and Hershey’s cocoa, 2% organic milk, a dash of Torani peppermint syrup, and a bit of Venezuelan rum from my birthday trip earlier this year. On the table there were marshmallows and chocolate chips for added “umpfh.” For those who preferred bubbly we served German champagne plus South African fruit spritz (thoughts of Mandela) in glasses with frozen strawberries at the bottom. Our favors were jingle bell ornaments (made me think of wedding bells) in little clear bags tied with metallic pom poms. Holiday+ wedding video = FUN!
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
