Happy Tuesday Fashion Femme Fatales and Gents! This week I’m busy preparing for my NYC trip (FASHION WEEK!!!), but I’m still thinking about how much I enjoyed my recent Cali visit. One of the coolest places was downtown LA’s “The Edison.” It’s a steampunk-themed nightclub located inside the Higgins Building’s sub-basement. Built in 1910, this was LA’s first ever power plant. Long forgotten, the building was rescued a few years ago by entrepreneurs Andrew Meieran and Marc Smith. Created to resemble an “industrial cathedral,” the current design is a combo of art nouveau and industrial gothic! After our wedding party, we invited everyone to hang there. Ralph, mom, my aunt, cousins, east coast besties and west coast besties were totally impressed. We were especially delighted by The Eddies, who performed amazing cabaret/burlesque/flapper shows throughout the night! I must encourage everyone to check out this beautiful establishment!
Femme Fashion: For such a “bright” evening, I decided to go for a look to match. I wore a floral body con dress by Asos with quilted orange Kate Spade tote (shout out to my girl Diamond) and patent leather wedges.
I’m a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I’ve been “reporting” from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I’d sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, “I think you need a blog!” LOL! I’ve been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
