Happy Saturday Loves!
It’s my favorite time of year again! I’m kicking off my New York Fashion Week coverage with Denibi SS17 collection. Denibi is a fashion house based in Barcelona specializing in leather goods, ready-to-wear, and furniture inspired by their home city, traveling, African heritage and minimalism.
As you can see from the runway photos those influences are apparent from the overcoats to the sleek hair to the accessories. Speaking of which, how cool are the backpacks?! Personally, I’m in love with the skirt suits paired with the leather gloves. Can’t you picture a femme fatale wearing pieces from this collection on a secret mission? Oh, my imagination!
FROM THE DESIGNER: “The main inspiration of the brand came from the single ebony wood mask named Nostalgia. That is our main source of inspiration. Its minimalism, its meaning and its aesthetic is what developed our entire collection. Nostalgia is also the first piece of art that we ever made.”
FEMME FATALE FACT: What’s exactly in a name? “Denibi” symbolizes a utopia for creatives. An island never damaged or influenced by any negative foreign interference. I can dig it.
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
