Inspired by Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth and Rita Moreno
Hands down one of my favorite shows from this past New York Fashion Week was Norisol Ferrari’s. Norisol’s collection represented confident women who commanded attention, desire and respect. EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING, about this show was banging from the music, to the models, to the runway production to the fabulous collection! One of the biggest highlights (and surprises) of the show, was Norisol mixing in “mature” models. They were sexy, bold and took over! In fact, the famous Carmen dell’Orefice closed the show and the audience went nuts (see her dancing off in the 4th pic down)! I had the pleasure of interviewing Norisol backstage. I told her I really enjoyed her “strong” fall presentation mentioning that her 2013 line -although equally strong – had tons of glamour. I asked, “What was your inspiration,” to which she replied, “Summer! I mean summer is events, it’s parties, it’s romantic, it’s weddings, summer is about real feminitity.” I totally agree, concur and second that motion!
Aren’t the nails GORGE?! The big beauty trend for 2013 was really represented in this show: bright red lips, a clean pulled back bun and cat-lined eyes. Look at the fierce collaborations that made up the models’ looks: Make up: Janell Geason for Aveda, Hair by Franco Della Grazia for Cutler, Wigs by Flora, Jewelry by Cantamessa, Eyewear by Selima Optique, Nails by Lulu Cooper, Shoes by Manolo Blahnik and Hosiery by Hue.
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
