Happy Monday Loves!
I hope you had a fantastic weekend! Mine started on a fabulous note a bit early. Last Thursday Macy’s in Washington, DC (metro center location) hosted the LULAC Women’s Legacy Awards and a fashion show where summer to fall transitional trends strutted down the runway. Expect to see lots of vests, patchwork denim, and more midi lengths as we head towards autumn.
My company, Pretty Parties and Fancy Favors, was proud to plan a delightful tea party for attendees. I was blessed with a dream team, Loris and Dakota, who donned vintage-inspired cap sleeve dresses along with me.
LULAC members enjoyed brownies shaped like diamonds and pastel shaped dogwood cookies crafted by my vendor partner Buzz Bakery. Plus, delicious blueberry lemon and strawberry almond scones by the amazing BakeHouse DC. Refreshments were Belvoir Farms elderflower and rose sparkling lemonade, coffee and organic cherry blossoms with roses green tea from the Capital Teas. For a special touch we used a variety of beautiful canape plates by Talking Tables from London.
Members traveled from all over for the LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) convention. LULAC is an organization that advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health, and civil rights of the Hispanic population in the United States.
I’m a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I’ve been “reporting” from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I’d sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, “I think you need a blog!” LOL! I’ve been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
