My Evening at the Emmy Awards!
Happy Monday Loves! I know, I know…I said, “Posts ONLY on Fridays,” but I just have to write about last weekend. On Saturday, I attended the Emmy awards at the Fillmore in Silver Springs, MD. It was such an amazing time! The Emmys are the highest award one can receive in television, so I felt beyond honored to be part of a team nominated for two: for best commercial and the other for best public service announcement (psa). The daytime Emmys are held in LA (recognizes outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime tv) and the primetime Emmys are held in NY (excellence in primetime television programming). I cherish the primetime Emmy I received for being on ESPN’s Sports Center staff. However, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences also recognizes excellence by region – celebrating everything from local news reporting to our case – commercials. Our team won for “The Stars and Stripes Tablet” App (see video attached). I was happy to share this moment with hubby Ralph, who cleans up quite nicely! I want to shout out doll designer Robert Tonner who gifted with me the beautiful Indian-inspired sequined gown! Robert Tonner is the most incredible doll designer with a cult following to prove it. For a moment I felt like a living doll! My accessories were vintage drop earrings and near century old sequin clutch – a birthday gift from bestie and fellow fashion blogger, Diamond Leone. In addition, I sported two blue cocktail rings on one hand (shout out to my sister Jehan and great friend Tasha for those presents). Speaking of gifts, my boo Freddie blessed me with the most awesome bob that morning. He set off my day correctly by playing “101 Dalmatians” starring Glenn Close as he styled my tresses. It was like watching an earlier version of the 2006 comedy-drama film, “A Devil Wears Prada,” where a true diva runs the show. I’m sure Freddie wanted me to soak up some of that energy, so I could properly werk the hair and gown – ha! Thanks guys for all of the support and checking out the pictures/winning commercial. My new goal is no matter what’s going on, I’m trying to enjoy the “process.” Life is short. I pray you all have the most fab week ever!

Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!
