Happy Monday Loves!
Last month Marc Jacobs showed his spring/summer ready-to-wear line at the famous Ziegfeld Theater in New York. It’s the city’s last large single screen cinema. I admire a well-planned event and Marc is all about a great show. The marquee blared “Marc Jacobs: One Night Only!” and inside there was cigarette girls, popcorn, ushers, Red Hots and everything from an old school theater experience. Paying homage to the good ol’ U-S-A, Marc’s show was an explosion of red, white and blue. Some of his inspirations for this line were his love of movies, New York, his past collections and Instagram. Yes – Instagram. He has an appreciation for the social media tool and looked at how it bombards us with amazing imagery. You can see that in the vividness in the photos below!
Now, here’s an interesting tidbit. The beloved Marc by Marc Jacobs line is no more. He dissolved it earlier this year. However, his luxury brand remains. This new collection is a peek at his company’s restructuring. The rumor is that the new company with one line will have will prices similar to Marc by Marc Jacobs. That’s good news to fashionistas on a budget!
I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
