Happy Friday Loves! I’m getting really excited about this weekend – mostly because I’m hosting a baby shower for my dear friend Honey. Her baby is due next month and many of her good friends are traveling from afar for the “pre-celebration.” I’m decorating with a vintage safari animal theme with lots of pink and gold! I cannot wait to share photos with you. In the meantime, let me catch you up on my pregnancy. I cannot believe I’m almost at 22 weeks (tomorrow) and I haven’t yet penned a maternity post. Some friends have asked when am I going to write about maternity style. Well, my dears, I happily start this effort today. The weeks have been flying by since finding out we were with child during October. Having gained about 15 pounds so far, I’ve totally “outgrown” my normal wardrobe. I cannot fit ANYTING -lol. It’s time to expand the closet – literally and figuratively. Fortunately, my sister has a two year old, so she was able to gift me some of her pregnancy staples. I’ve been shopping for what I call “cute” comfort – mostly larger sweaters (all the rage this winter) and stretchy print leggings. OH! I adore any graphic tee that mentions I’m preggers. It’s a special experience, yet short term as far as clothing goes, because once the baby is born – the exercise training kicks in for returning to previous size. Therefore, I’ve decided on buying pieces that will look good oversized and those that are heavily – trend influenced (so, I won’t mind giving them away or donating since they won’t be in style next season, anyway – lol). I’m working on a series of what to wear for each trimester as well as a gigantic giveaway for my blog’s 4th birthday – woo hoo! Plus, New York Fashion Week kicks off this coming week and you know, belly or not, I will not miss that event – lol! Thanks for staying tuned and for all of the support! Love you all! Have an amazing weekend! Ps: Check out few pics of the belly progress – lol:
1. Black H&M sweater and Citizens of Humanity maternity denim (3 months preggers)
2. H&M Sporty sequin cotton dress at New Year’s Eve Party (3 months preggers)
3. Girls On Film T Shirt Dress in Jacquard at Kennedy Center for a play (4 months preggers)
I’m a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I’ve been “reporting” from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I’d sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, “I think you need a blog!” LOL! I’ve been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
