CUT FOR THE FEMALE FORM…
Slinky tank gowns, sequins and bows – oh my! Jill Stuart’s spring/summer 2013 collection was filled with girlie-girlie charm and Hollywood glamour this past Saturday at the Lincoln Center! Inspired by Kim Basinger’s character in “L.A. Confidential,” this line featured looks from the Golden Age: lots of silk, chiffon and lace. There were plenty of knee-length hems, fitted blazers, and high ruffled necks- a strong trend for next year. Jill told me that her makeup colors were also a big part of this collection, which was filled with champagne, dusty pink, ivory, silver, muted bronze, coral, black and white. I cannot wait to write about the new Jill Stuart lipstick I’ve acquired. Named “lipstick stain 21,” this wonderful red is said to be “with light touch and pure color.”I love feeling like the Golden Age of Hollywood, even if it’s only on my lips. But, I digress- this collection was one of the more beautiful lines I saw during NY fashion week (media diva Madinah agrees). As this video will show, it was absolutely GORGE and gives much to look forward to in the spring. There’s nothing quite like clothing cut for the feminine form. As promised, check out the full runway show plus my backstage interview.
