Happy Thursday Loves!
It has been such an exciting week! My dear friend Honey and her husband David had their beautiful daughter Alexandria Claire Shewbert on Monday morning 18.5” and 6.8lbs healthy!
Honey and I have been on a full adventure together. She was exactly one full trimester ahead of me. In fact, at 29 weeks I’m in the early parts of my third trimester, which means “Game On!” LOL!
All of this reminds me of a special occasion in February. My whimsical event company, Pretty Parties and Fancy Favors, planned and hosted Honey’s baby shower. It was great fun and I had the most creative vendors to work with. I was in love with her safari animals nursery theme (especially giraffes) and alphabets. I made it my inspiration for the vintage safari event. From a beautiful giraffe cake (with chocolate chip cookie dough inside from Buttercream Bakeshop in DC) to animal cake topper from Mooses Creations to giraffe earrings for the guests, it was cute and wild. Oh, and I loved working with TopperandTwine for gold glittery toppers with the baby’s name and birthday.
She moved here several months back from Germany, so I had to add little touches as a shout out to her last hometown (like “Danke” on the favor gift tags or “Sieger” on the prizes for game winners). “Check out my latest YouTube episode – it features how I set up Honey’s shower.

I’m a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I’ve been “reporting” from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I’d sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, “I think you need a blog!” LOL! I’ve been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
