FOR THE LOVE OF ORGANIC DENIM

By KristySamone — July 27, 2012

Meet Jackson. He’s an avid fitness lover, a poet by trade and a denim connoisseur – especially, organic denim.  If you haven’t heard of organic denim it is just as it sounds – jeans made from organic cotton. Jackson preaches it’s important to “break in” this kind of denim, which becomes like “second skin.”  I’ll write another post on how to break-in jeans, because that’s a complete science.

His fav brand is Nudie Jeans (seen in the pic), a company who boasts being the market leader in organic denim and states, “No fabric ages quite as beautifully as denim; the longer you wear your jeans, the more character and attitude they acquire.”   http://www.nudiejeans.com/

Jackson, who calls his style, “rugged chic,” sports: Nudie jeans, H&M cowlneck, intentionally “distressed” shoes by Converse and Asics.

More food for thought: According to thecologist.com, from the enormous doses of pesticides, insecticides and agrochemicals, nonorganic cotton is not the best for our environment.

Thanks Jackson for being an awesome model! Oh! Before ya go – check out some other organic denim labels – see below links. Happy Friday!:)

We stocked a small bolt of organic denim but realized customers doing bespoke didn't really care if it was organic or not. They were more interested in the dye itself :(

Interesting! So, the customers were more interested in the "look" than the fact it was organic? Wow!
