I attended Curves Rock Weekend in Baltimore, Maryland on Sat, which was specifically for women sizes 10 and up. There were events covering fashion, health and fitness with the goal to “cater to the fashionably underserved.” With the understanding that “curvy” girls make up more than half of the U.S. population, I knew this would be a great event to report on and opportunity to watch a cool runway show! I enjoyed the VIP reception, chatted with designers and models backstage, and was exposed new lines I hadn’t heard of. I will write about the collections throughout the week starting with who I met backstage – Qristyl Frazier of Project Runway fame. Note pic of me backstage with the super sweet Qristyl, plus-sized super model Liris Crosse (who has graced the pages of everything from Glamour to Vogue) and Doretta Johns of http://www.couturequeen.net/.
Swag bag contents: lip colors, pencils, nail lacquers and eyeliner by Milani…I CANNOT wait to try the Premiere Plum lip color (def in for fall 2012 – don’t worry, I’ll blog about it:)

I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
