Happy Saturday Fashion Femme Fatales and Gents! As promised on yesterday, I’m sharing with you some amazing photos from the wedding I planned with the help of Lawrence Magali, Celebrations and Events Manager, at the Gaylord Hotel (National Harbor, Maryland) last Saturday, August 23rd. The evening lived up to the wedding’s theme of “Love Birds at Sunset” (I was thrilled when the couple gave the “yes” for that concept!). In fact, the wedding started right about now – near 7pm. I could not have been happier for Jinne and Khan – the beauty of their love was apparent in every aspect of the evening. Being that the super cute Jinne is a graphic artist and the dapper Khan has great style, they were an easy duo to work with in terms of creativity. Jinne actually designed the wedding menu and escort cards, which were quite the hit with guests. The staff at the Gaylord Hotel did a phenomenal job of making sure the evening went smoothly and offered me assistance with anything I may have needed. I started my day getting extra flowers (organic) from a local florist inside of Union Market, DC. It’s always a good idea to have extra flowers from top florist in Pasadena to dress up anything from a buffet to a gift to an escort card table. From there I met with Lawrence, his peeps and a variety of vendors working diligently to make sure it was a smooth night. I felt that every piece came together for the theme, which had a color scheme of lilac with cream. The photographer, Stephanie of Reese Studios, was on point, and so were the chair vendors (Party Plus) and the florist (Enchanted Florist of Alexandria, Va). Speaking of the latter, Ashley did her thang with the floral arrangments transforming the room into an elegant wonderland. Lotus Productions beautified the space with lovely draping and lilac uplighting. My assistant Karima helped me with the placecards, table numbers, making sure guests had discounted parking and the like. Friends like Yvonne and Marcy helped set up. OH… Marcy is an outstanding bluegrass fiddler, but let me tell you, honey played John Legend’s “All of Me” as the couple entered the room like nobody’s business! The gourmet dinner was something to write home about along with DJ Mark and international singing sensation Tolumide. At 9:20pm there were fireworks outside, which was the huge exclamation point of the evening! Although exhausted, I was so proud to be part of this epic reception! I’m launching a new style show on YouTube which debuts next Monday, September 8th during New York Fashion Week. The first episode will give inspiration on how to style wedding photos with the second focusing in on wedding beauty tips and the third on how to pose for photos. This wedding will be in a future episode, so I will be sure to let you know when it drops (the video of the room is quite gorgeous). I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend. I’m looking forward to having Labor Day off! I’m in need of a spa visit. Love ya’ll!
