The Happy Monday Fashion Femme Fatales and Gents! In the pic below I’m happily posing with a tasty gift goodie box filled with macaroons and mini desserts! I adore well-planned events! A few days ago I attended the media preview of “the Waterfront Market” in historic Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. The Waterfront Market, is a new concept by Bittersweet Cafe owner Jody Manor. I’ve written many posts about the yummy Bittersweet Cafe – most recently about the custom monogrammed cherry blossom cookies baked for my wedding. But, I digress, the newest venture is a 4,000 square-foot market and café which opened over the weekend. Designed to resemble an old-fashioned ship’s store, the Waterfront combines a market, awesome bakery and quick service restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. Sooo cute! Located alongside the beautiful Potomac river, Jody said it will be a place that boaters, locals and visitors alike can grab delicous meals. Note this is also great for on-the-go-fashionistas! I’m a big fan of picking up sushi and a specialty drink for dinner especially after a good workout. Ralph and I had a blast sampling and meeting interesting attendees like the Alexandria Town Crier – Benjamin Fiore-Walker. “Oyez, Oyez, Oyez!”
Speaking of attendees, I’d be remiss not to mention one of my personal highlights! It was the sweet reunion with my Virginia Tech college roommate! Maurisa Turner Potts is the publicist for the Waterfront Market & Cafe. We hadn’t seen each other in years! It’s a small and wonderful world! Consequently, she majored in the world of fashion and exposed me to it’s variety. I remember her planning the most awesome runway shows!
Whenever you are in Old Town, Alexandria (and I encourage my international readers to visit) check out the Waterfront Market & Cafe! I don’t often put the words “COMFORT” and “GOURMET” in the same sentence, but that’s exactly what you’ll experience. Be sure to look at the links and have an a-mazing Monday!

I'm a media strategist, fashion fan and whimsical event planner. For years, I've been "reporting" from fashion shows and fabulous events to my loved one out of pure joy. Unbeknowest to me in February 2012 my sister started kristysamone.com with photos and letters I'd sent her from New York Fashion Week. She said, "I think you need a blog!" LOL! I've been trying keep us with this and life ever since:) Thanks so much for reading!View all KristySamone posts.
